Farm Update 08-03-17

This will be a rather short update, since there isn’t a whole lot either new for this week, or much that happened last week.

The big story is, of course the weather. The storm on Wednesday set a new record on my weather station log, with a peak rainfall rate of 5.24″/hour. Needless to say, it rained a little over an inch in less than 20 minutes. For those of you who have been following the growing season, you know that this is the last thing needed.

There are still ongoing problems with various types of fungi, along with the general slowdown in plant growth due to the near continuous saturation they’re getting.

For those who have been waiting, there should, let me stress SHOULD, be more tomatoes available this week. There are, however, no promises to be made at all this year, primarily due to the weather.

Please be sure to check the What’s Available page to see what I am currently picking. I’ve decided, based on the growing conditions this year, to add another new section labeled “Intermittent Availability”. I don’t think I need to explain why I’ve chosen to add it this year.

I’d like to thank everyone who stopped by the farm this week. I sincerely appreciate your support.
