Farm Update 10-07-21

The end is near… for the farm stand’s season, that is. This Sunday, the 10th of October is the last day the farm stand will be open for the 2021 season. After that there will still be Eggs (until early December), Preserves and Frozen Whole Chicken (until they run out) available by getting in touch with me to set up a pick up time.

There are still a few Thanksgiving Turkeys available for pre-order so please get in touch if you would like to order one. You can also chance it, and get in touch with me just before Thanksgiving to see if I have any extra ones for sale. For those of you who have pre-ordered, I will be posting more info in a couple of weeks when I get final conformation of processing dates and times.

Around the farm work has already shifted to clearing the field and preparing for winter’s arrival. After that will come the usual maintenance and repair work I have to do each year. In the meantime though, those of you who are flower lovers can still get Gladiolus.

Most of the types of Preserves are available, with a few running low at this point and the 8oz Strawberry already sold out until the spring. I think I’ll work on some other new types over the winter, so wish me luck in getting them right.

There will be Fresh Whole Chicken again this weekend, as well as frozen ones. After the stand closes I will be adding a section to the What’s Available page with a listing for the Frozen Whole Chicken sizes you can order.

And now to answer the question that ALWAYS comes up this time of year – Yes, I do plan to be operating the farm again next year. Let’s just hope the weather conditions are a little more amenable to actually growing things.

That’s it for now. I would like to offer my sincere thanks to those who have helped support the farm. Hope everyone has a great week.
