The majority of the planting is done, with second and third plantings of certain crops on the schedule for the next few weeks.
The weather has certainly been interesting this year, and as noted in the Special Update, the temps dropped to near freezing with patchy frost that did a bit of damage all around. Thankfully, the frost was only patchy, so there were no massive losses, but it was close. Another degree or so, and the majority of what was in the ground, minus the cold-hardy crops, would have been trashed.
So now it’s on to scattered plantings, maintenance and upkeep, weeding (a chore I loathe), and all the other work associated with growing food. The tentative farm stand opening date is still July 1st as of now, and should there be a change it will be posted as soon as possible.
